Bovec is a mountain town in northwestern Slovenia. It is surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps, such as Kanin and Krn. To the east are the mountains, forests and glacial lakes of the Triglav National Park. The turquoise river Soča with its rapids is popular for water sports.
